Farmwave Partners With Auburn University to Measure Harvest Loss in Peanuts 🥜

Craig Ganssle |

AU PostIt's no secret that Farmwave works on peanuts, especially with the University of Georgia. Farmwave and the UGA College of Agriculture and Environmental Services, (CAES), have been working together for years. Farmwave's founder & CEO, Craig Ganssle also served on the industry advisory committee with UGA.

The autonomous measurement of peanut losses began at UGA under the direction of Dr. Simerjeet Virk who helped Farmwave learn more about measuring these losses during both the digging and the picking process.

Now, in 2025, through additional collaboration, Dr. Virk continues working with Farmwave, this time as the Associate Professor & Extension Specialist, Precision Ag & Machinery Systems at Auburn University.

Peanuts are a common crop grown in the Southeast United States, but there is a lot also grown in Brazil and Argentina, and area Farmwave is growing in rapidly.

Through combined efforts, Farmwave will continue to add features to loss measurements of peanuts such as peanut quality and cause of losses through measurement and inspection of the peanut branches, as one example.

We look forward to working with Dr. Virk at Auburn University, as well as continued efforts with the University of Georgia. 🥜
