Farmwave One: Building the Future
Developing cutting-edge technology for agriculture—especially hardware—comes with a unique challenge: timing.
At Farmwave, our primary focus is on the Harvest season. In North America, where we’re based, this critical period lasts just 90 days each year.
That means we have only 90 days to:
-
Test new features and hardware
-
Fix bugs and troubleshoot issues
-
Review feedback, recommendations, and requests
-
Provide support to our users
-
Handle new sales (since word-of-mouth spreads fastest during harvest)
That’s a very short window to do it all.
While we can sometimes travel to other countries during their harvest seasons, this comes with logistical and financial challenges. Coordinating schedules, hauling hardware across borders, and navigating unfamiliar regions take a lot of resources. We’re expanding internationally, but we remain committed to supporting our farmers and customers right here in our backyard..
The Journey to Today
Farmwave’s journey didn’t happen overnight. It took:
-
6 years of research and development to build a working prototype, develop the Farmwave AI, and collect the data to build out the models
-
2 years to refine two different prototype versions
-
Another year to develop a scalable production model
When we finally launched, demand skyrocketed—almost too fast. Keeping up within that 90-day harvest window was tough, but we were able to adapt, overcome, and continue to charge on.
We thought raising money would be the answer. More capital + more people = faster growth—right? Not quite. And in today’s economic climate, securing funding has been harder than ever.
AI startups, especially those in GenAI, seemed to have no trouble attracting investors.
But what if you’re solving complex problems that happen at the edge, in a specific industry, and your product has a critical 90 day window of actually being used? Investors weren’t necessarily beating a path to our door.
So, we kept going.
And now, in 2025, we’ve reached a major milestone: Farmwave will be releasing Farmbook One.
Here is what you can expect:

-
Dynamic Graphs – Auto-adjusting for higher quality, resolution, and visualization
-
New Data Collection Mode – Expanding support for more crops
-
Live Feed – Check real-time camera feeds to ensure they’re calibrated the way you need them
-

-
Outlined Annotations – Enhanced callouts for more detailed analysis
-
Device/Account Association – Easily move devices between accounts via cloud OTA (like smartphones and tablets)
We’re setting our customers up for success with future capabilities within Farmwave One.
By 2027, Farmwave’s goal is to interface with the machine itself where these recommendations will, with your permission, autonomously manipulate the combine to reduce losses without human intervention sending alerts to farm managers when connected.
We’re even working on bringing back hand-held AI assisted solutions that bring the Farmbook out of the cab, to be used more throughout the farm. Pathogen and pest infestation identification, crop recommendations, communication, and more.
Farmwave One is a game-changer, and we can’t wait for you to experience it.
Thanks for being part of the Farmwave journey. Here’s to an exciting 2025!
